Why don't you use fluorescent lights on your lathe?

Lathe is a kind of processing machine tool, mainly used for processing all kinds of metal parts. Lathes require high brightness lighting during machining to ensure staff safety and accuracy. But why don't lathes use fluorescent lights? This is because fluorescent lamps have some disadvantages that make them unsuitable for lathe lighting.

First, the brightness of fluorescent lamps is not stable. The brightness of fluorescent lamps diminishes over time because of the chemical reaction of the gas inside the lamp. This means that fluorescent lamps used on lathes may need to be replaced frequently, which can increase production costs.

Secondly, fluorescent lamps have a shorter bulb life. Because of the high current in fluorescent lights, bulbs can easily overheat. When bulbs overheat, they can rupture or explode, which can cause serious injuries to the lathe and the workers. As a result, fluorescent lamps used on lathes need to be replaced frequently, which can also increase production costs.

In addition, fluorescent lamps produce large amounts of ultraviolet and infrared radiation. These radiations may negatively affect the health of staff, especially for those who work on lathes for long hours. Therefore, in order to protect the health of the staff, the fluorescent lamps used on the lathe must be lamps with less UV and infrared rays.

Finally, the color of fluorescent lamps is bluish, which does not meet the actual needs in lathe machining. Lathe processing requires the use of yellow light, so as to ensure that the color of the processed parts uniform, to achieve better quality requirements. The color of fluorescent lamps is bluish, can not meet this demand.

In summary, the lathe does not use fluorescent lamps because fluorescent lamps have unstable brightness, short bulb life, ultraviolet and infrared and other problems. Lathes need to use stable, yellowish-colored lights to ensure that the quality of the processed parts meets the requirements, but also to protect the health of the staff.
